As I read "Your Entrepreneur's Journal," by Jeff Sandefer several items stood out as important to me.
1. "A journal is like a mirror; it doesn't lie. Looking at past decisions, as well as what I learned from them, and knowing that someday I'll be evaluating today's decisions the same way, has made me a much more honest with myself. And that has made all the difference in my business and in my life."
2. The importance of relentless curiosity.
3. 4 elements each entry most have date, lesson learned, lesson not yet learned and a method of organization.
4. Write (make entries a habit) so it can be useful.
This week watching a video by Guy Kawasaki he said something that I really want to take to heart and follow. He said to study and do what you love. Starting a company for the money will more than likely lead you to being miserable. He also said that it's all about changing the world, money isn't all it's cracked up to be. This comes back to what impressed me so much about last semester and that is determining my focus. Why am I doing what I am doing? I know that as I thought about that a lot last semester it is still with me and I am making choices off what I have determined as my MAIN focus.
I love listening to President Hinckley because I was just finishing high school when he became the Prophet I remember the spirit I felt as I listened to his council as I was making big decisions in my life. I want to watch this again in the future so as to be able to remember that spirit and continue to allow it to give direction in my life.
